During piano lessons, students will be taught to read and play music, learn a range of musical styles, develop correct playing techniques, understand music terms and notation, play chords and scales, and much more!

All Tempo Tutoring piano students are taught on acoustic upright or grand pianos. This will allow students to experience the feel and sound of a real piano, which is particularly beneficial to those preparing for their music examinations.

Yes! We wholeheartedly believe anyone can learn the piano. All it takes is practice, commitment, and patience.

The recommended starting age for piano is 6-years-old. However, at Tempo Tutoring School of Music, we have taught piano to children as young as 4-years-old. If you have a 4- or 5-year-old, we recommend scheduling a trial lesson to see if they can keep their focus for the full 30-minutes and retain the information taught during the lesson.

We certainly do! Our teachers are experienced in teaching students of all ages. There is a misconception that adults find it difficult to learn a new instrument, but more often than not, we have found this to be the complete opposite!

Following the trial lesson, we expect all students to have their own instrument to practice on at home. We are able to provide suggestions for digital and acoustic pianos to suit every budget.
